Unique tracks every piece on its own record — slab 4471 is not slab 4472. Bulk counts by quantity. Packaging is the unit a type is bought in; a type priced per unit has none. The definitions themselves are platform-owned: you choose which apply, never what they contain.

Variants are the axes a product of that type can be sold on. An attribute is one value the product asserts about every piece — a slab is Quartzite, full stop. A variant axis is a menu: a product picks several thicknesses and several finishes, every combination gets its own base price, and a piece arriving at the yard says which combination it is.
