Variant Axes · Slabs
An attribute is one value the product asserts about every piece. An axis is a set the product offers, and a piece selects one of them. That is the whole difference, and it decides everything else: an axis claims no attribute column in the catalog grid and never joins the identity sub-line, but it does produce a facet, and it is what receiving asks a slab to name. Axes are seeded per Product Type on Slabs and Bundles only — a tenant selects values, never authors an axis.
| Axis | Unit | Seeded Values |
|---|---|---|
| Thickness | cm | 2 · 3 · 5 · 6 |
| Finish | — | Polished · Honed · Leathered · Brushed · Tumbled · Matte · Raw / Unfinished |
